The awesomest weekend ever :)

Hey!

I am back! I am feeling relatively alright now. I spent the entire day sleeping, which really helped in getting rid of the fever. It's night now. And I'm nearly done with revising for my Chemistry practical exam tomorrow.

I am writing this post on my mother's iPhone. So I can't put in the pictures I want as they are all in the laptop and my dad conveniently left it in his car -.-

As the title states, this post is going to be about the best weekend I ever had so far in this year :)

On Friday, we went to my junior's house to prepare all the things we were going to sell for the school carnival the next day.

All of us that could go to my junior's house met up at the school foyer after school and we set off. Two of my juniors went to collect all the flowers from Far East Flora while the rest of us went to Plaza Singapura to buy some stuff like ribbons to wrap the flowers in a bouquet.

We had ordered roses, carnations and gerberas. Traditionally, we had always sold roses for the past few years. This year, we decided to sell carnations as the day after the carnival was Mother's Day. I have no idea where the gerberas came from.

The pictures are of the gerberas and the roses we sold. I actually have pictures of carnations, but they're not on my mum's camera roll :(

When we reached my junior's house, we started de-throning the roses right away. The roses seriously had too many thorns! Especially the red ones. We bought red, white and pink ones. the gerberas and the carnations didn't need de-thorning.

We took quite a long time to complete everything. My junior had only so many knives and scissors to cut away the thorns. And there were only so many of us.

We bought around 800 flowers. At least 250 of each. I think we ordered more carnations...

After de-thorning all the roses and wrapping the bottom in wet cotton and aluminum foil, we started making bouquets of carnations. The carnations were quite small and cute :)

My junior was actually having a sleepover at her house. However, my parents didn't let me sleep over ( actually, it was my mum -.-), so they picked me up at around midnight. I know, very late right? Might as well sleep over :(

I reached home at around 1am and I hit the sack straight away after changing out. I only took a bath in the morning when I woke up at 6am.

I had to wake up early as I was meeting my friends at Bishan MRT station at 7am. We were meeting up as all of us were participating in the walk-a-jogathon the school always organized which is held before the carnival.

During the walk-a-jogathon, my friends and I walked for the entire 2.5 km! I tell, we were the slowest amongst all the girls. The boys were so hardcore. They started running right away even though it wasn't a marathon. And then they ran back to get more if their friends to run with them!

Anyways, after completing the walk, the carnival had already started, so my friends and I went to visit the booths. I was so happy when I found the Art Club booth as they had face-painting! I liked getting my face painted :3 I'll put up a picture of the design next time.

After getting my face-painted, I went to my CCA's booth to collect some flowers and walked around the place trying to sell the flowers. I was really shy about approaching strangers, so I first approached all my friends that were there to persuade them to buy flowers.

Wow, some of my batch-mates and my seniors were really very incredible. They had no qualms about going up to complete strangers and asking them to buy the flowers. They can totally become formidable entrepreneurs.

That's about practically what I did during the school carnival. Actually, I was also browsing through the booths while selling flowers. And I bought some badges and got my hair spray-painted ^.^ I also took some photos with my friends :)) and I also visited the dunking booth to see the teachers being dunked and went to my senior's haunted house!

The flowers were a hit! We managed to sell almost all of them! LOL. Mostly thanks to my seniors and batch-mates who were willing to shamelessly approach strangers. Towards the end of the carnival, we cut down the prices of the flowers which attracted much more people!

We earned a whopping $1400 from it! Can you believe it?! All of us were so happy :) Ahh. After the entire thing, my legs ached like hell. And I still had to go to Bishan library to meet up with my friends to discuss our english PT.

I really enjoyed last weekend ;) I hope I enjoy this weekend too!
