Awayy

Hello guys!

It's been a month since I last posted. It was mainly because I was busy with NaNoWriMo. This year, I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo after not doing so well in my written essay for my English exam. I wanted to see if I really lost my touch at writing. Though I did not manage to write the required 50k words because I also had training in school and I'll usually be tired for a few hours when I get home.

But I do feel a bit accomplished. My previous attempts at writing stories had either died a horrible death or had been abandoned in the Gobi Desert. I had never wrote as much as I did for NaNoWriMo. And I don't think the story is going to end anytime soon. Actually, part of the reason why I could not complete the story because I had a mindblock (or writer's block) and could not see how the story should continue from there. I am still experiencing writer's block TT.TT

That's all the month of November consisted of. Besides going for trainings and the occasional movie. Like I said before, I watched Pitch-Perfect! A really good movie to watch despite it being a chick-flick.

And I also watched Rise of The Guardians! Twice! Once with my CCA and another time with my friend. Achievement Unlocked: watching the same movie twice x) So, now I have 2 ticket stubs for the movie. The first time I went to watch at Suntec City. The other time I went to watch at JCUBE.

The movie was really good. Basically it was about the guardians: Santa Claus, Sandman, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy getting together to defeat Pitch-Black (aka, the bogeyman). Jack Frost was chosen as a new guardian, though he doesn't want to be one. Pitch-Black wanted to be believed in because nobody believes in him anymore. The only way he can do that is to get the children of the world to stop believing in the guardians ( they are only alive so long as children believe in them).

I think that's enough summary :) Or was that too little? Watch it if you want to find out what happens in the end x) I think the cool thing about the movie was that all the guardians was chosen by the Man in the Moon. Really makes you wonder about the fairy tales you heard as a kid.

Life of Pi is finally out!! I so badly want to watch it!! Maybe I can convince my dad to let me watch it....Haish, my friend and I were planning to watch it but she's overseas now :( I don't know when she'll be back. And I just realised that Hotel Transylvania is going to be released on the 6th December and I am flying off on the 5th! Arghhh. What a dilemma...

Haish, I need to go pack my stuff now. I'll update tomorrow :)

Imma Free Woman

Hello kids!

It's been a long time since I've last updated, and I am really sorry for that! Anyways, I am updating today because it was the last day of school yesterday!! WOOHOO!!! NO SCHOOL FOR 2 FREAKING MONTHS! Actually, I still have to go back to school for my CCA... T.T But I at least I don't have to study!

Scratch that, I still need to study. After doing badly for Chemistry, Physics and Math ( I got a C for all 3 of them), my mum is forcing me to study. Ugh, I really hate how anal she is about me excelling academically. A person cannot just survive on academics! What's the use of being so incredibly smart if you cannot socialise at all? In the future, you're going to have to talk and interact with many people to accomplish any projects. We should not just be academically smart, we should be street-smart too.

Alright, I am going to stop talking about academics. That was not the reason why I wanted to update. After school ended at 10am yesterday, a few friends of mine and I went to watch Skyfall! I know right!! That is actually the first James Bond movie I ever watched. I have only ever saw the trailers for the movies. I liked the theme song Adele made for the movie, it was really good; as expected of Adele :)

Obviously, there was alot of action in the movie and the sound effects were quite loud because the theatre we were in was kind of small. The colour tones of some of the scenes were sometimes very contrasting. And the plot was plausible....at least better than Taken 2. I thought Taken 2 was completely plotless with just alot of action.

Haha, I am talking about alot of the technical bits of Skyfall. The beginning were not quite what I expected of a James Bond movie....but who am I say what the beginning of a James Bond movie should be like? Other than that, I thought Q, one of the agents in M16, was so freaking cute! He had that nerdy cuteness going on. I hope he stars in the next two James Bond movies.

Q is on the left xD
I am going to watch Pitch Perfect with my friends next Friday. I can't wait to watch it! I am mainly going to watch it because I haven't watched a chick-flick in a while and I haven't seen Brittany Snow acting in a while either. So it is a win-win situation xD

So many great movies are coming out this month! I want to watch all of them! I want to watch Frankenweenie too! It is a Tim Burton film and obviously, it is a bit gothic but humorous at the same time. I liked watching Corpse Bride, so I will definitely like watching Frankenweenie.

There are so many other movies that I want to watch, but I will end here for now because I don't want to get too caught up about which movies I want to watch. But I will definitely watch Life of Pi. The CG effects I saw on the trailer was incredible! It really reminded me of Hugo....speaking of which, I should watch Hugo one of these days. I hope they filmed Life of Pi with a 3D camera instead of converting it to 3D. The effects are very much different between the two.

Okay, I need to go eat dinner now, bye!

Lyfe

HELLO WORLD!

Why is that in caps? I must be feeling really high and it is 2am. Haish...actually, I am writing this post as I wait for my movie to finish converting. It's going to take a long time...I am converting 3 movies at once! And It hasn't progressed much at all. Only 29% of the first movie has been converted T.T At this rate, I'll have to watch the movie later today...

Anyways, what I wanted to post about is my blog. This isn't my first blog. I have blogged alot before. I remember when my primary school was using a webserver (can't remember which) and there was a blog function. Since it was only open to those of my level and my teachers, I was really outgoing and noisy on blog, just like how I was in real life. And my blog was quite popular too ;) Sadly, that was only until I graduated from my primary school.

I have tried blogging a few times after that but to no avail. I will always either abandon the blog or delete it. I guess I didn't have as much willpower as Xiaxue whose been blogging for 10 years now! This blog is my best success story so far. I have been blogging continuously for about 6 months now! That's half a year :} My first post was on the 23rd...Maybe I'll do something on the 23rd this month to celebrate!

I am contemplating this because while waiting for my movies to finish converting, I was reading some of Xiaxue and QiuQiu's blog posts. It struck me how famous they were just from blogging about their everyday lives. They were kind of like mini-celebrities in their own right. I mean really. Reporters and tabloids alike want to know a celebrities daily happenings and scandals ( Keeping Up With The Kardashians, anyone?). And here were people who happily wrote about their everyday life for all to read.

They have amassed such a huge readership that all their fans eagerly wait for their next post. When they post after a long time, everyone jumps to read it right away. While small blogs like mine just fade away and collect cyber dust. Not that I am complaining. I didn't start this blog just so people will notice me. Heck, I didn't even tell any of my friends that I have a blog.

It is just something I always think about when I read the blogs of people who have a huge readership. I think it may be because I hardly put labels on my posts lol. I am a very private person in general, especially online. The internet world has become a very scary and brutal place where anyone and everyone can attack you anonymously. You won't find me sharing pictures of me on my blog. And when I blog about the places I go to, it is usually after I've been to that place or I am very very vague about the location. You may laugh, but I am afraid people may stalk me....it is a justifiable fear, alright? It happened to other people!

I don't know if I really want to increase readership of my blog or just make my blog more interesting for me. Even I can find my blog a little boring sometimes. Maybe I'll have a page about taking random snapshots of things...That actually sounds pretty cool! I remembered when I once wanted to do a blog that did reviews on stuff like books, movies, dramas etc. And I even made a detailed plan in my notebook! Like all other blogs, I abandoned it...and it was partly because I didn't have the time. Maybe I'll do that when I am older and have finished school :D

Right now, I am just watching movies and dramas and blogging about it, which is actually like reviewing...But it will get boring after a while, won't it? I have a feeling that this is going to be a really lengthy post. To whoever who reads this blog, you may go now...no need to continue.
.
.
.
.

Oh? You are still reading? MWAHAHAHA! My bait worked!! Anyways, continuing on, reading their blogs ( Xiaxue and QiuQiu's) really got me thinking about the future. I mean, I am 15 and in a few years, I'll be going to university and then taking my first job...what would I want my life to be like?

I definitely do not want an office job. That will just be like going to school all over again. You wake up too early, go to work grumbling about the work you are going to do, start doing your work in a tiny cubicle, look forward to going for lunch and gossiping with your friends, go back to work and look forward to getting home and finally sleeping. How is it any different from going to school?

The only difference is that school-life can be enjoyable lol. Because you are alot more carefree and don't need to worry about bills etc.

I want to wake up at whatever time I want to wake up, and not be plagued to go work in an office cubicle because that just sickens me. I love writing. So, I considered being a journalist or something (still considering). A journalist that travels alot...But I also want to have kids and having a traveling mom might not be good for them :D Look, I am such a considerate mom! I am considering for the kids I am going to have in the future.

Oh, for that line of thought, I am hoping to have 3 kids by the time I hit 35....whom they all share a wonderful father. Yes, I still have that kind of fantasy and I always will. People who think they are so 'wise' as  to be cynical about love and all that really make me laugh. But that's for another blog post =D

I can't believe that it is nearly 4am! More like 3.45 am to be exact. Where did all the time go? Seriously, how long is this post? Or have I been too distracted doing so many other things inlcuding typing up this post?

Oh god, we have digressed far too much from the main path. Let's get back to it...

As I was saying, I want to live my life quite happily. Like the way Xiaxue and QiuQiu are living their lives. Happy with the job they are doing and happy with their lives (at least that's the image they seem to portray). And it is pretty cool that they earn bucketloads of money from advertising brands on their blogs and going for events and getting freebies. I want leh!

My movies haven't finished converting but I think I need to go sleep now since I have school on Thursday and I don't want to start the habit of sleeping really late and waking up really late ( I woke up at 2pm today). But I think I'll be contemplating ways to improve my somewhat lagging blog and my seemingly stagnant life. Hoho, there may be a part 2 to this. You'll get more life rubbish junk from me.

Okays, going to sleep now lol.

The Guilty Pleasure of Mine

Hey Kids!

I am having a freaking blast because I get to watch whatever I want to watch now. And my mother can't do anything because my exams are over!!! The only downside is that my sister's exams are over too and everyday, we're fighting over who gets to use the laptop and when. But she's at her friend's house today, so i have the computer to myself! YEAH BABY YEAH!

Actually, I have been alternating between watching music videos and America's Next Top Model. Yes, I know. America's Next Top Model! I had always liked watching that show. I don't know why. I think all girls, when they were young, always wanted to become a model. You can see it when they play with their barbie dolls and when they pose with their mother's clothes, lol.

I remember one season airing on Channel 5 (the local TV channel of Singapore) and I really really liked one of the contestants, Allison Harvard! She has the biggest biggest eyes I had ever seen. She was on cycle 12 and I watched a few of the episodes. And completely forgot about ANTM until I saw the advertisement for cycle 19, which is currently airing right now.

So I decided to finish watching the entire of cycle 12. And I have to say, I think Allison Harvard should have won the competition. The winner was Teyona Anderson and she was just as good. But my bias is Allison Harvard :D

That is one of my most favourite photoshoot of Allison's in ANTM. She looked like a baby bird that just hatched out.

I also watched the very first cycle of ANTM because I wanted to see how the cycle 1 was like. And boyy, was it different. ANTM started in 2003. Just by watching the cycle 1 and cycle 12, you can really see the vast difference between the 2 cycles and how much ANTM has grown. In cycle 1 there were only 10 contestants and they were squeezed into a hotel room. I watched cycle 12, the models get a huge apartment to themselves.

Even the fashion was different in both cycles. In 2003, it was all about belly tops/crop tops paired with jeans. In cycle 12, the only time I see the contestants wearing belly tops is when they were in the apartment. Maybe it's just because I have never been to America before, maybe the girls wear belly tops all the time.

But, the only thing consistent were the contestants. There will always be girls bitching about the others. And girls whose personalities annoying the eff out of you no matter what they do. And the catfights. Oh yes, the catfights. I bet they are the serious highlight of the ANTM.

The one other model I like besides Allison Harvard is Elyse Sewell from cycle 1. She came in third. When you watch her in cycle 1, she comes across a bit aloof and condescending at times because she is a medical student and more knowledgeable than the other girls. At one point, she even wanted to quit! But she didn't :D Her straightforwardness can be very entertaining sometimes.

This is one of her photoshoots from ANTM. When you watch the show, she seemed to be less serious than all the girls about the competition, but she can look so effortlessly high-fashion on her photoshoots and her catwalk is very good. Miss Jay Alexander loved her walk from the first time he saw it. I think it was said that she was one of the most successful models from ANTM. Here are a few of her photoshoots after ANTM.

I can see why she is so successful. She is so versatile and so good. I think if she had been less condescending, she could have won the cycle. But Adrianna Curry (the winner of cycle 1) was just as good.

I feel like watching more cycles of ANTM. I have already watched cycle 18. The British invasion one. And I really liked Sophie Sumner, the winner of the cycle. She was so cute and bubbly ;D

Yup, so that's it. Going back to watching more music videos :D

The Taste of Freedom~

THANK GOD THE EXAMS ARE OVER, I THOUGHT THEY'LL NEVER END.

Hey guys!

As you can see, my exams are finally over!!! The year's curriculum is finally over. I don't have to study for at least another 3 months! Ahh, 3 months of pure bliss and chillin' out...

I am definitely going to take some time out and freaking enjoy myself (although, I have been only exerting myself for barely 3 weeks). The exams were not that bad actually. Maybe, it was because i studied a bit harder this year. But I am quite disappointed for Math. For once, the Math Dept. in my school were sympathetic and made both Math 1 and Math 2 papers simple. If only I revised more! I could have breezed through the questions.

Especially for Math 2. The paper was actually doable compared to previous times. And I couldn't two of the questions because I did not revise enough T.T And they are practicall worth half the marks! I feel so disappointed that I couldn't do better for Math when the teachers had actually made the paper doable for once. I don't think it will happen again next year...

Other than that, all my other papers were okay. Okay, maybe except for History....I think I screwed up the SBQ and a bit of the SEQ...Never mind, the paper had already been submitted. Let's forget about the papers and think about chillaxing :D

Today, I watched two really great movies. I watched Ice Age 4: Continental Drift and Aeon Flux. Two very different movies. One is animation and the other, Sci-Fi. Aeon Flux is the first movie I've seen Charlize Theron in. And she is so so so pretty. I want to have her body ;__;

Continental Drift was as funny as ever! Ice Age had always been funny to me. Especially the subplot about the squirrel/rodent hunting for the nut. It's always the one starting off the story :D I think it somehow establishes the storyline, which is quite cool. I don't know how the producers do it. Making a character that is not involved in any way with the main characters and yet, it is still involved.

I have don nothing much besides that. I watched a few music videos especially, G-Dragon's Crayon. It's so funny and cute! I don't know how many times I've watched it. It's just that enjoyable! I listened to all his songs in his new album too. As expected from G-Dragon: nothing but the best.

I also listened to Mika's newest album, Origin of Love. Ohhh....the songs were so good! I have yet to find a Mika song that I hate. I have never hated any of Mika's songs; just liked some more than others. His new album was no different. I liked all of his songs, especially Origin of Love. The catchy beat and the lyrics had me humming to them all day.

That's it then. My day thus far after my exam ended at 9am. I know, so early, right?! Might as well not go to school. I don't know how to spend the rest of the day...actually, it's already past 6pm...what else to do at night except to sleep? I don't have any school tomorrow. I don't have any school until next Thursday actually. So shiok right! So I don't want to spend the next 5 days lounging around at home. I NEED TO GET THE F*** OUT!

Now that I think about it...my CCA is resuming next week! I can't freaking believe it! Why must they start so fast! Can't they let us enjoy our holiday in peace? Is it too much to ask for? Why can't they start next week ;__; I don't want to spend the holiday going back to school! Can't they just give us a week more? We just finished our papers!

Haish. Feeling kind of tired right now. I may take a little nap now lol :)

Progress Report

Hi guys :)

Today, I barely got any revision done because when I came home, I fell asleep straight away all the way until 6.30pm! And I came home around 2.30pm T.T Oh gosh, I should really stop sleeping so much :( It is seriously bad for me because if I sleep in the day, I'll sleep late at night too. And then, I won't be able to wake up tomorrow morning for school! FML.

Anyway, after this, I am planning to do my Math homework so that I can get SOMETHING done today. Arghh, I should just stay in school and study. It will be so much more effective that way for me. But my mother is also asking me to tutor my sister because her PSLE is coming soon :( BUT MY EXAMS ARE COMING SOON TOO DAMMIT.

I need to tell my mother that if she wants me to help my sister with her studies, I can only do so at night when I come home from revising in school. Seriously, I am going to coop myself up in school and study. I am really very worried about what I am going to do for my EYAs this year. I don't think I have been this unprepared before...Or maybe it's just because I am taking more notice of how long there is until the start of EYAs as compared to before...

I am just updating today because I think I might use this blog to post 'Progress Reports' on how my revision is getting along. I think it will really help me alot and may help me see how I am furthering with my revision. So, from tomorrow onwards, the posts are going to be kind of dry and boring. And that will continue all the way until the 11th of October...

So sorry for that, but even someone as carefree as me needs to be serious sometimes.

Update: I have decided to write my exam journal on another page so that I won't be an even bigger bore to my nonexistent audience than I already am :)

In The Dark Hours of The Night

Hello people!

It's past midnight and I am still wide awake as hell. Might as well listen to Mika...and eat the dark chocolate that my dad bought today :)

I think this is probably going to be my last post before my EYAs start. I am starting intensive revision tomorrow and will most likely not have enough time to post regularly. And even when I feel like posting, it will mostly be very short posts. I can't afford to spend too long without compromising on my studying. I really want to do well for my EYAs this term.

Seriously, if I can get 3.09 with some studying, imagine my what my GPA will be if I study intensively! LOL, actually, my mum promised to give me loads of moolah if i can get 3.6 for every subject. I think I may be able to do that...Except for Math 2. Why the hell does it have to exist?! I see no use for it for my future at all. I guess if I want to be an economist or an accountant, there'll be use for it. BUT I AM NOT!! Grr...nothing can get me as angry as Math 2...Ugh, I hate school.

Ugh, that's how I feel sometimes about school. I would rather do ANYTHING than go to school. Then again, if I didn't go to school, I wouldn't have learned to read or write. And I wouldn't be typing this right now. Starting this blog is one of the best moments of my short 15 years :) And I LOVE to read. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't read. I can't remember the countless times reading a book saved me from boredom on the days my dad took to the laptop to work.

As the world becomes more and more digital, reading a book is slowly going to become a rarity. Everything can be stored digitally now. What's the point of buying and reading actual books? Actually, I have done that before. When the book I want to borrow is not available, I'll just google it to find the e-book format, download it and read it. In one way, have everything digitised is useful in a way; it reduces the amount of paper used to produce books, and in time, less trees will be cut down!

But seriously, reading from the computer screen is just not the same as flipping a page in a book. Like everything else, digital media has its advantages and disadvantages (duh).

Actually, I am contemplating staying in school to revise. I cannot revise at home. When I come home, I fall asleep right away or start procrastinating on the computer and never get my work done at all. I should stay away from the computer at all costs. Maybe I should deactivate my Facebook and Twitter for this period of time...No, I should not. It's during this time that everybody start sharing their notes and I could really use those notes...

Especially for Science TT.TT I really have no idea what I should be studying for my Sciences. There seemed to be too many slides up on the school website. I don't really feel like printing them out because I'll only be using them for 2 weeks- 3 weeks at the most. But if I refer to them from the laptop, I'll most likely get distracted and stop studying altogether.

And I don't really feel like doing up a study schedule. I did that for my studies for the September Holidays and I was very optimistic that I will follow it this time, but after Wednesday, I just gave up on it completely. Why is it so hard for something to keep my attention span long enough to complete it?

My attention span is so short that I never had wrote a post before without checking my Facebook, Twitter, email etc. While I am typing, I suddenly get this urge to wander off for a little while before coming back to writing this post. So, using the the laptop for my revision is a no-go. Then I guess I have to get my dad to print out my notes for me...

There's still two more songs to go on my playlist, so I am going to continue typing....

Today, it was my friend's 15th birthday and I went to Bugis Street with her :D I never realised that Bugis Street had so many good and cheap clothes! It's as if I have just died and gone to heaven~<3 Sadly, I didn't bring enough money to go shopping. The main reason I went to Bugis Street with my friend because she wanted to buy suspender shorts and a friend of ours told us that Bugis Street had really nice ones.

The suspender shorts I bought for my friend actually looked like that. Except that the material was denim and it was blue. The cool thing about those suspenders was that the straps was detachable, so it doubles as shorts too! High-waisted shorts actually :) My friend was really happy with it because that was her first suspender shorts and high-waisted shorts doubled into one. Good. She should be happy. That thing cost me 25 bucks T.T Okay, I shouldn't be complaining. It was her birthday! She should get anything she wants.

After that, we cruised around Bugis Street. Seriously, there were so many shops selling such great clothes, accessories, bags etc that my heart broke that I couldn't buy anything. And they were so cheap too!! TT.TT I don't care, I am coming back after EYAs and will shop until I drop.

I never realised Bugis Street has so many shops! Bugis Street recently had a 3rd floor built. The 2nd floor was so huge and we literally explored every nook and cranny that I couldn't believe that my friend still had energy to go to the 3rd floor. Seriously, my back and feet was aching like crazy when I came back. Is this why shopaholics are so skinny? Maybe I should shop more, I'll grow skinner ;)

My playlist is replaying again but who cares. I still have alot to write about. I want to write as much as I can think of before I get down to revision...

By the way, noticed my new background? Very nice right? I made it myself *ego inflates* I actually took a picture I found on the Internet and edited to make it my own. The words are a little hard to see, but it says "Chaos is what the world is made of. Ripples are what they create." So cheem right ;D Here's the original and the edited picture

Original

edited

What do you think? My editing skills not that bad, right! I like the texture of the edited picture. Though I can't remember which effect I used...I was playing around with the effects and then, I got this. I did alot of things to the picture before choosing that effect, alright! I cropped it, increased the hue, sharpened the image,  changed a little of the contrast etc. The girl just seems perfect with the text. This is seriously one of my proudest accomplishments! :')

Alright, it's past 1am now. I need to go to sleep...I still have school tomorrow.

Long-Term Planning...

Hey kids!
I am wrote this during the mother tongue block. So this post is going to be very wordy with no pictures because i am too lazy to look for them…and yes, I brought the laptop to school again. I had to lug the huge laptop case to school and back. So annoying -.- I must buy another laptop case soon…wait, I am broke…

I actually don’t know what to talk about because I don’t want to read another book again. I am always in the library during the mother tongue block and I’ll either be reading a book or sleeping or trying to finish homework…

And I don’t want bringing the laptop to be a waste, so I am using it now. I can’t go to Facebook and twitter during school hours… Basically, I don’t know what to do besides this. Am I bore or what huh?

Since I can’t think of anything else to talk about, I shall talk about what I am going to do after my end-year exams finish on the 11th of October. Oh god, I got a whole lot of things planned! I am excited just thinking about it :D

First, I am going to finish watching all the dramas that I have abandoned watching in July. I think I wrote a post on the current dramas I was watching…and I haven’t finish watching any of those dramas yet except for Big. Ugh! The ending of Big was horrible. The storyline was so interesting and unique and the ending was like that?! Anyways, the few dramas I am going watch are:

1. Gumiho
2. Spy Myeong Wol
3. My Princess
4. Time Slip Dr. Jin
5. Secret Garden
6. Baby-faced Beauty
7. I am your teacher
8. Rooftop Prince
9. Queen In-Hyun's Man
10. What's Up!
11. The Legend

The first one’s full name is my girlfriend is a Gumiho/nine-tailed fox. The one Lee Seung Ki’s acting in!! I heard he acted in another drama with Ha Ji Won. HA JI WON!!!! Wow, is he that good? Of course he’s good, he’s my favourite actor <3

I just realised all of them are k-drama…I should watch some j-dorama too. The dramas are quite good, even the ones that came out 10 years ago. The k-dramas 10 years ago not so much…to me anyway.

I am also planning to watch some dramas again. Because I liked the drama so much that I feel like watching it again. Here are some of them:

1. Playful Kiss!
2. Gokusen 1-3
3. Zenkai Girl

Of course, I am also planning to watch Korean variety shows. They are seriously very funny. How do the Koreans do it? Especially those that involve the celebrities. Who knew that the celebrities can be so weird and retarded lol. Here’s the list of possible Korean variety shows I may watch:

1. Invincible Youth 2
2. Running Man
3. Strong Heart
4. Intimate Note
5. Idol Army
6. Hello Baby
7. We Got Married

For Idol Army, I think I am only going to see the seasons with MBLAQ and SuJu. And I am also not going to watch all the couples in We Got Married. I am going to finish watching Khuntoria. After that I am going to watch the Adam Couple, WooJung Couple and TuekSo Couple.

Haha, seeing the list, I might as well just stay cooped up at home and not go to school at all. Oh well, I won’t spend all the time dramas, okay! I have a life to live as well…Actually, my life is watching dramas. Oh gosh, what a sad life I lead…excuse me while I emo for a while.

Besides movies, I am also planning to watch movies that I haven’t got the chance to watch when it was in theatres. I lead a very, very sad life alright. I didn’t even watch a single movie last year! -.- The only time I get to watch movies is during the weekends and the weekend tickets are so expensive! If I watch on a weekday, at least I’ll get a student rate.

This reminds me, school usually ends earlier after the end-year exams end, so I might go watch a movie or two with my friends after school!
Anyway, I still need to make a list of the movies I want to watch. And I have a feeling the list is going to be long. A lot of great movies came out last year that I didn’t get a chance to watch. Especially Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. And I might watch Avatar again!! It’s my favourite movie of all time before The Hunger Games. James Cameron, the director of Avatar, is a freaking genius. How does he do it?!
I might as well as stay at home and not go to school at all if I am to finish watching all of this…I am also planning to read a few books leh! The sequel to Enclave just came out and I so badly want to read it L Haish, not to mention CCA will resume 2-3 weeks after EYAs finish. And it will continue all the way to December. We only got the last week of December off. Never mind. I need to make the most out of it!
That’s all I actually have planned for the post-EYA period. We might have a class outing after EYAs…Nothing is confirmed yet. And the school might plan a few things for us. I just hope to god that it is not boring as hell as it was last year. The school really wasted their money on some enrichment stuff that we didn’t need at all. I hope that they don’t do it again this year.

POST FROM SCHOOL

Hey kids!

I brought the laptop to school today! Actually, I brought it a few times before but this is the first time that I am blogging while in school. I am usually too busy doing my work to do anything else. The school Wi-Fi isn’t that bad actually…

Since I have nothing better to talk about as I am still in school and waiting for my CCA to start, I shall talk about the school day (I can’t think of anything better).

It being the first day of school after the September Holidays, everyone was not pleased to be in school. Everyone wanted to stay home and sleep a little more and just forget about the end year exams that are coming in little over 3 weeks. But…we still had to drag ourselves out of the bed anyway.

I had to go to school extra early this morning because I needed to discuss my presentation with a teacher. By extra early, I mean at 7am…which is the time everyone normally comes. I usually arrive at 7.20am, right at the time when the bell rings for Morning Assembly.

I can’t remember how many times I spaced out in the first two hours of school. Imagine how annoying it was when I found out that only 2 hours had gone by and I had another 4 more hours until school ended -.- Ugh, I hate Mondays. They are the bane of my existence.

Imagine my happiness when recess came! Haha, everyone lives for recess in schools. I think that’s the main reason why many people come to school. If it’s like that, then don’t come to school lah! I don’t usually go down to the canteen for recess because my classroom is all the way up at the 4th level. By the time I go down, half of recess would have finished. Furthermore, I had 2nd recess today, which means there’s going to be extra-long queues for food. I can’t be bothered, really.

Oh god! It’s already 2.20pm! My CCA’s going to start in half an hour and I haven’t even changed yet!! I need to hurry up and finish this post…

Actually, the blocks after recess were pretty okay. We had Physics after recess and everyone in my class loves Physics because we have a very good teacher teaching us who makes Physics super interesting! I truly woke up after that class :D

Physics was followed by Social Studies and History. Both of these classes were quite relaxed. We were done for the year for Social Studies, so our teacher was just doing revision and whatnot. For History, we were learning Russian Revolution, which is quite interesting, really. And our teacher let us watch a few videos. Everyone loves videos J

It was English after that. THE LAST BLOCK! HALLELUJAH!!! Our teacher gave us a comprehension to do. The passage was very interesting today. It was on fashion! These days, the teachers are giving us quite interesting comprehension passages to do. The other day, we got one on the importance of Sexuality Education! Are the teachers hinting at something…
Okay, that was it for today.

I need to go and change now~~ Haish, whatever am I going to do about revision L

The 8-year-old me :)

Hey kids!

Recently, I have been watching alot of old Disney movies that I used to watch when I was around 7 or 8 years old. Obviously, being that age, I would naturally love the Disney Princesses. Sadly, it was the era of cable telly (and it still is) and I didn't have access to Disney :'( And my dad only get cable during the football season, even then, he'll only subscribe to the sports channels -.-

I am digressing...the point is, I never really watched any of the Disney Princesses movies; only read the Walt Disney books (btw, I think Walt Disney is a freaking GENIUS). And what my friends, who have cable and watch Disney all the time, told me about them.

So, since it was the September Holidays, I decided to watch these movies that I have missed out on. After I watched a Marvel movie, I'll watch one of the Disney Princesses films :)

I have only watched a few so far; Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast (I am waiting for the movie to load now, actually). Watching these films made me realise how long ago these films were made. Seriously, if they were so popular back in 2004-2005, then they must have been made a long time ago. And they seriously were!

The animated movie of Cinderella was made back in 1950! That long ago! Wow, no wonder Mickey Mouse has been around for such a long time (it dates before WWII). After watching every movie, I would google it to see when it was made, and all of them were made quite long ago. Sleeping Beauty was in 1959, The Little Mermaid was in 1989 and Beauty and The Beast was in 1991.

I don't know when the other movies were made, but they must have been quite a while back too. Though I think Aladdin, Mulan and Pocahontas would have been made a little later than the others because America was a very race-based country in the 1950s-1960s. Why you think the first few princesses are white?

Anyways, I had an awesome time watching the movies and reliving my past again :D And watching these really old films really shows you the differences between the animation of then and now. And how the plot-line changed over the years. Though the first few films I watched talked about falling in love at first sight and getting married right away. LOL, the princess was quite YOLO back then ^.^ No one really believes in that anymore. And I actually find it kind of sad that people have become so cynical already...And don't get me started on how annoying 12-year-olds have become!

If you were to look at it from a feminist point of view, these films are misogynistic in their portrayal of females. They give an impression that females only think about their Prince Charming and are the most beautiful, and that is awfully sexist because beauty comes from the inside and that it gives a wrong impression of life and reality...blah blah blandy blah blah.

WHO DA HELL CARES, IT IS A FREAKING ANIMATION. Not that I am saying that feminists are wrong but I seriously think that they can really over-think on some things. Honestly, didn't those feminists once dreamt about their Prince Charming and having a fairy-tale ending?

Ahh, fairy-tale endings. Everyone wants them and yet, not want them at the same time. Doesn't it come to mind all the countless chick-lit books you read about 'never to dream about a fairy-tale ending because reality doesn't work that way.'

But what's wrong in expecting a fairy-tale ending? Everyone wants their life to be fulfilling, don't they? Why are people so against expecting a fairy-tale ending?

Wow, I have become so enlightened after watching these films O.O Haha, when you are 15-year-old watching these kinds of films meant for little kids really opens your eyes to things you never noticed before when you were a kid :D

Haish, September holidays are going to end soon and I don't think I will be able to watch the rest of the films until after EYAs :( Sheesh, I don't think I studied enough during the hols...

Goodnight kids ;)

Childhood Revisited?

hello world!

Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute Loki is so cute

I can go on saying that for the entire day! Haha, just watched The Avengers :) I can't get over how cute Loki looked! Who cares if he's the bad guy, he's cute :3 Actually, it's more like Tom Hiddleston is cute, but Tom Hiddleston as Loki is cute :DD Zomg, especially when he smiles!!!! *Faints* Or is the term 'smirk' more apt? Whatever it is, it is a crime for a guy have smile/smirk like his ~ <3  Ahh, British actors...

(Loki's the one with black hair. The other one is Thor)

Here's one with him, smiling.

Here's a funny picture I found :D

I should change 'writing' to 'studying', print out that picture and hang it up in my room to serve as motivation for me to study XDD Ahh, I can sigh over him all day <3

I just found out that he was F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris O.O And I watched that before! Why haven't I noticed him before? I must have been completely blind.

Anywhoo, watching The Avengers suddenly brought to memory all the superhero cartoons I used to watch as a kid. That's why I titled the post as such. I was that kind of kid that used to watch anything on the telly because I was that addicted to the telly. And obviously, I would have watched a few superhero cartoons.

The ones I can distinctly remember is X-Men. It was practically the rage back then. Along with Fantastic Four. Both of them are Marvel lol. Oh yes, Spiderman too.

That's all the Marvel cartoons I remember watching. I didn't particularly like spiderman... I can't think of a reason why but maybe because I hated spiders? Speaking of Spiderman....Andrew Garfield should totally be on The Avengers 2! :3 It's kinda sad that they didn't include Spiderman in The Avengers.

Among all the superhero cartoons I watched, I think I watched Super-Man the most. I had no idea why. The reruns came on more often then the other cartoons. And when started watching American dramas, Smallville was the first drama I watched...which was basically about Superman... I liked Wonder-Woman the most :D She was practically the only female and I had no choice but to like her -.- And I liked the romance between her and Superman ;)

Though I watched all these cartoons before, I never heard of Iron Man and Captain America until the movies came out because I never had enough interest to read the comics. That includes Hawkeye and Black Widow too. And I used to think X-Men was DC comics .____. I have a feeling that many hardcore comic readers are getting a chill down their spines now. DC and Marvel Comics practically have an entire universe(s) built from scratch in their comics.

Maybe I should go back to Barbie and Disney Princesses movies...

Foggy Weather

Hello world :))

Everybody's gonna love today love today love today. Everybody's love today love today. Anyway you want to, anyway you got to, love love me love love me~~

Haha, listening to Mika's 'Love Today' now. Oh gosh, I am absolutely head over heels for Mika and his songs! His songs are just so meaningful and full of fun. Just listening to his songs makes me go YOLO and Carpe Diem :))

Mika is just that colourful :3 I want my life to be that colourful. I can't stop moving to the beat of his music. I want to meet Mika one day~~~

I feel like dedicating this entire post to Mika! LOL, the title has no relation to this at all. Listening to Mika's 'Grace Kelly' now :) This is the second song of Mika's I listened to after hearing 'We Are Golden'.

I actually got to know Mika when I saw the advertising for his album on the telly a few years ago-2009 to be precise. At first, I was 'whatever, don't know him'. After I saw his interview in a magazine, I decided to listen to his songs- I was looking for new songs to listen to anyway, kinda getting tired of Rihanna and Avril Lavigne. And I started listening ever since.

I think he's more famous in UK than in the world. Not many European singers can be very very famous. Except maybe The Spice Girls and Cheryl Cole. And maybe One Direction -.-

For the record, I kinda think that 1D is a little over-rated. I prefer The Wanted. I know many people have been comparing 1D to Backstreet Boys. But BSB is in a whole 'nother dimension. They are in a league of their own. Don't compare the two! I grew up listening to Backstreet Boys! And Britney Spears and Michael Jackson and Gwen Stefani...

How did the topic get to this? ZOMG, I can seriously digress alot. Listening to Lady GaGa's 'Eh, Eh' now :) Haha, had a fun time thinking about all the singers I listen to and used to listen to... I don't really remember who I actually listened to back in 2008 besides Avril Lavigne and Hilary Duff and maybe some Gwen Stefani. OHOH, I was obsessed with Lady GaGa in 2008 after hearing 'Poker Face'. I think I still am :)) Then 2009, it was the peak of the k-pop fever and it still is. I think I listened to more k-pop in 2009 then to English pop songs... The number now is more or less equal now...

Oh gosh, I need to go study now -.-

Bye~~
